2026.08.0609:00:00UTC+00Ghana’s Annual Inflation Eases to 4.6% in July, Extending Disinflation Trend

Ghana’s consumer price inflation slowed further in July 2026, with the year-over-year Consumer Price Index (CPI) easing to 4.60%, down from 5.30% in June 2026. The latest reading, updated on 06 August 2026, underscores a continuing disinflationary trend in the Ghanaian economy.

Both the current and previous figures are measured on a year-over-year basis, comparing each month’s price changes with the same month a year earlier. The July data therefore indicates that price pressures in the economy are moderating compared with July of the prior year, following a similar but slightly stronger inflation pace recorded in June.

The ongoing decline in annual CPI suggests a gradual stabilization in consumer prices, which may influence expectations around monetary policy, borrowing costs, and household purchasing power as Ghana moves through the second half of 2026.
